ABOUT BLUE ECO HOMES
ABOUT BLUE ECO HOMES
With a passion for building and the World Heritage area that is the Blue Mountains, Joe Mercieca had a vision to build sustainable quality homes, with minimal impact on the environment – both during construction and when occupied. This was the catalyst for Blue Eco Homes.
With an aim to reduce environmental impact both during construction and habitation of their homes, Blue Eco Homes continues to pioneer sustainable innovations in the building industry. We work with local designers to build sustainable residential and commercial properties simply not offered by traditional builders.

About Joe Mercieca
With over 30 years’ experience in commercial and residential construction, Joe’s expertise and passion in the building industry has been instrumental in the growth of Blue Eco Homes. Prior to rebranding to Blue Eco Homes in 2010, Joe initially established Joe Mercieca Constructions in 2003 following his success working for a large construction company.
His leadership skills have seen the business grow while his considered approach to the needs and motivation of his clients and his genuine desire for quality and sustainable construction has resulted in many successful and award-winning projects.
Armed with a strong belief that ‘no challenge is too big’, Joe is leading the way in sustainable construction. He is involved in various influential construction boards to encourage the education and development of current industry bodies, staff and regulations. Joe’s desire to educate and equip others in sustainable building extends into staffing as well. He strongly promotes construction to high school leavers and takes on work experience for high schoolers where possible. Many of Joe’s staff have begun as apprentices and moved on to management and other career progressions as a result of his training.
Motivated by relationships with people over money, Joe is hands on with clients to ensure their needs are met and they get their dream sustainable home built!
